Welcome!

At Chatham Elementary School, all students will learn to their fullest potential. The education of each student will be individualized and developmentally appropriate. National, global and multicultural perspectives will enhance student learning. Every child will exhibit academic growth through data driven, evidence-based practices.

POSITIVE BEHAVIOR INTERVENTIONS AND SUPPORTS (PBIS)

Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports is being implemented at Chatham Elementary as well as all Pittsylvania County Schools. PBIS is a systematic team based approach to working with all students. PBIS focus on behavior and academic expectations. It is data-based and has systems in place to support all students’ needs at all levels. PBIS is a school-wide system that addresses the whole school: the classroom and areas outside the classroom (to include the hallways, offices, cafeteria, playground/school grounds, bus, restrooms, etc.). The team approach is what makes this system work, and we really need every family’s support to help us be successful. It’s undisputable, when schools and families work together to support learning, children tend to succeed not just in school, but also throughout life.

Our Mission Statement:

The mission of Chatham Elementary School is to provide appropriate opportunities for each student to reach his/her full academic, emotional, physical, and social potential in a safe, secure environment.
